Quick Fix: Kitchen Cabinetry

I loved working with Melissa, partially because of her live and let live philosophy. Her very small kitchen is smack in the middle of the living space, albeit partially concealed behind two walls, and it’s cabinetry and hardware leant a very “vintage” vibe to the entire apartment. Basically when compared to the crisp white modern aesthetic Melissa sought it was a bit of an eyesore. Fortunately she was game for change, despite her rental status.

Here you can see the before and after. What a difference we achieved through crisp white cabinetry paint, a pretty lilac paint for the background, and affordable steel hardware. The total cost of supplies amounted to less than $200, but the change is dramatic. Once Melissa moves on we think the new tenants will be more than happy to keep the wood white washed. What do you think?

  1. the most important thing to do is to take accurate measurements. This saves time and helps with planning. A lot of home improvement stores will send their worker to your home to recheck your measurements before your new kitchen is ordered. This will guarantee that your new cabinets will fit perfectly.
